Summit

Summit is loosely based on various Native American creation myths. The man of the mountain is emerging from the underworld and summoning the animals.

American Roulette

American Roulette is a play on words referencing the lethal game of chance, Russian Roulette. America is now living in a precarious world with guns everywhere. Notice all the printed collages images of guns on the outside of this piece as well as a house in the center with armed people peering through the windows.

Puzzled

I often use bird imagery and symbolism in my artwork. This piece was inspired by an article I read on the intelligence of birds. A particular green parrot from New Zealand and birds in the crow and raven family rank the highest for utilizing tools to obtain food and performance on learning tasks. In this case I incorporated games of chance and social political references to money and government as the bird’s maneuver to control their environment. Games of chance are powerful symbols of the nature of today’s society.

“To create a sculpture you need to be part explorer, part engineer, part illustrator and painter.”

Thar She Blows

The oceans and all creatures in it are full of garbage. Garbage peers out from under the waves that covers the monster fish. On top of it all is an unsuspecting fisherman.

Monster Tsunami

Monster Tsunami started from a cardboard box I rescued from the garbage that reminded me of a pagoda. I proceeded to imagine and create a whole narrative around it culminating in a tsunami wave printed paper, houses and people washed away and a dragon symbolizing the untamed nature of the unknown.

The World Weighs Heavy

This sculpture is literally weighed down as it bends precariously forward with the weight of the world on its shoulders. Found objects such as lamp parts. cat toys, piano parts and driftwood complete the surreal abstract piece.

Metal Cataclysm

Its expressing my rage and theory about what’s happening in the world politically and with the environment. Notice the arrow that is narrowly missing the world a tornado shaped mouth and the eyebrow with a city about to be wiped out by a wave. Made from cut and painted aluminium with other objects.

The Wave of The Future

Climate change is a monster problem! Notice the human sliding down a wave holding the world about to be swallowed by the gigantic fish.

Man Trap

This piece turns the natural world upside down. Man, the biggest predator, is now the prey.

Metal Fish

My metal fish are made with cut and painted aluminum along with metal cans collected from the road. I’m trying to do my part to clean up the earth.
